Excursions, Larzac - The Grand European Adventure #6

On the first Saturday, we went out for a 10-hour excursion. One of the places we visited was La Couvertoirade, a medieval town established in the 1400’s by the Knights Templar looking to protect the villagers during the Hundred Years’ War between England and France – 1337-1453. (Also makes me wish I had paid more attention in history class). There are about 25 families who live in this historic village year around, the youngest just one month old. The homes are passed from one generation to the next. Many run small crafts and food shops within the walls.

Every view here was photo worthy. But as one woman aptly expressed, “I feel like I am on a Disney movie set and expect Belle to come singing around the next corner”. I have so many wonderful pictures. Here are just a few.
